Audience Feedback:

Editing on 'iMovie
I then showed my current video to a group of people that would be found in my target audience. I asked them what they thought of my video so far and what are some things that stood out to them and what were some areas that i may need to improve.

Audience Feedback:

pros
-The reverse shot with the leaves is effective
- Love the feet shot
- The action-match shot with the boy walking on his hands is really effective
- The whole vie of the overall film is really feel-good and energetic
- Stop-motion animation is very effective
cons
-The string on the moonwalking scene is very irritating
- Some of the lip-synching is a little out of time
-More quirky, weird shots

Taking on all of this valuable feedback, i am going to ensure i become a little more experimental with my final few shots. Therefore, i will hopefully have a few funny scenes to lighten up the overall mood of the video that i am currently conveying. I am also going to pay more particular attention to the timing of my lip-syncing shots as it will look much more professional if they are all perfectly in time with the lyrics and the beat of the song. Additionally, i plan to also re-film the moon-walking scene and ensure there re no distraction in the shot and the quality of the footage is better!

Morphing Inspiration:

I have included some mid shots of multiple people lip- synching to my song. This video by 'Godley and Creme', i thought was worth making note of as it is quite similar to the technique that i used in my own music video. However, i especially love how perfectly still each person is held in each shot as it then effectively morphs into the other very fluidly. From this, i have decided to include some fading in and out of the mid-shots to hopefully have a similar effect as this video.

Music Poster, Final:

Poster 1
Poster 2
Poster 3
Poster 4

I am currently at the stage where i am happy with the design of my music poster, however i need to decide on one of these four color-hues. The collaboration of images and bright bold colours that catch the viewers eye work very effectively to successfully connote my music genre of 'Electronic/ Funk'. I have ensured that the text is extremely clear as i have found, when researching into similar music posters, that it was vital to make it clear to the audience what it is that the poster is advertising. Therefore, i chose to use a very bold, clear and basic font type that contrasted with the electric, bold collage of colours and patterns used in the background. Furthermore, the overall design won't look too over-powering and confusing as the white text seems to break up the colour effectively. I used the 'Mika' poster stated in my previous blogpost as a source of main inspiration. It had a similar collaboration of colours and comic-like images. However, it didn't have much of a focal point which i didn't like. Therefore, i chose to incorporate my album cover design into the poster and used the large red lips as the centre image to act as a focal point, similar to my album cover.

At this current stage, with the four different posters placed side-by-side i am almost certain that i prefer the look of 'Poster 4' as the colours are slightly more natural and vibrant.

Album Poster Inspiration:

1) I love the powerful 'explosion' of graphics in the centre of the page. There is also a sense of personalisation as the title has been created by using cellotape and a stamp-like title. The yellow text at the bottom of the page is also a very eye-catching colour and it helps to balance out and break up the large amount of graphics up on the top half of the page.

2) Another really unusual, but creative effect is this use of collaging and morphing. The four members of the band have all been included in the poster which i think is also important and the colours used also give a powerful and strong image. The release date again has been highlighted with the use of a vivid, bold colour.

3) This would probably be my favourite of the three as i especially love the exciting comic book inspired colours and computerized images. The collaboration of unrelated objects have also given me the idea that the genre of music may be a quirky, upbeat and happy.

Album Poster, Experimental Design:

I thought i would experiment with the design of my second ancillary task- the creation of a music poster. I felt it was necessary to make a link between my music video production and this poster as it would ensure that my audience will understand what it is exactly that i am tring to promote.

After creating this poster, i have decided that i did not like the finished product. It is slightly too simple and not as creative as i thought it would look.

I asked a few people from within my target audience, what they thought about my design. They too felt it too wasn't very successful and said that they think i could create something alot more interesting and creative.
